Karen Panariello

Head of US Low-Income Housing Tax Credits

Karen Panariello is the head of low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) investments. She is a member of the real assets investment committee. Prior to joining the firm, Karen was a vice president at Hudson Housing Capital, a privately held LIHTC syndicator, for 16 years. She has extensive experience underwriting, structuring, and managing LIHTC investments in proprietary and multi-investor funds. Prior to her career in affordable housing, Karen was a structural engineer responsible for the design of new construction commercial, hospitality, and sports facilities before returning to school to pursue an MBA. Karen has been in the affordable housing industry since 2003 and started with the firm in 2019. She received her BS in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame, her MS in structural engineering from Columbia University and her MBA, with a concentration in finance and real estate, from New York University.
