Karen Panariello

Head of US Low-Income Housing Tax Credits

Karen Panariello is the Head of US Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). Previously, she was a vice president at Hudson Housing Capital, a privately held LIHTC syndicator, for 16 years. At Hudson, Karen held a senior role responsible for property acquisitions and underwriting and had direct involvement with proprietary fund investors. Prior to her career in affordable housing, Karen was a structural engineer and worked on the design of new construction commercial, hospitality, and sports facilities for four years before returning to school to pursue an MBA. Karen has been in the affordable housing industry since 2003 and started with the firm in 2019. She received her BS in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame, her MS in structural engineering from Columbia University and her MBA, with a concentration in finance and real estate, from New York University.
